His new book: Vendetta: The Runestone Saga, Book Two, the second installment in a kinda-fantastical, kinda-historical series that draws from Norse myth.
His special sauce: for starters, he's a former fight choreographer and fencing champion--in other words, a professional swashbuckler. Also, he's a rune reader and he has a tattoo of Uruz on his body. What's Uruz? Hint: it's not a Finnish ex-girlfriend.
One other thing about him: according to the material that came with our review copy, Humphrey's mother was born with a caul over her face. That is definitely THE strangest author-bio factiod EVER.
hey burgerfolk...publishing a novel is plenty cool enough, in our book. We salute anybody who can sit down and write anything longer than a blog entry (which is all we can manage...and, um...as you may have noticed...sometimes we can't even manage to do that!). So when we read on a book's jacket copy that the author of the novel we're holding in our hands has also climbed Mount Ranier in his underwear or hitchhiked across Tanzania with a monkey on his back, we just feel awe-full.
Yes, filled with awe. In burger lingo, when somebody accomplishes something above and beyond the norm, we say, "she's topped with special sauce."
So we're starting a little series just to shine the spotlight on writers of new books who've also accomplished incredible off-the-page stuff....next post is installment number one....
they sat down for our pop quiz interview, bared their souls, and designed their own burgers for our honorary menu:
The E Lockhart Burger: a well-spiced veggie burger, topped with blue cheese, lettuce, dijon mustard and extra pickles. ("I am a vegetarian, Bookburger. Like Roo in The Boyfriend List.")

my wrath!")
