so the burger has no vegetables?

plus my love of doc martens never really went away, even though they're damn heavy to walk in.

mitch

my love of docs has never abated either (unlike my affinity for motorcycle jackets and gingham). Although I do lace them differently these days.

(By the way: Heavy? Really? You talking about some of them big honking docs? 22-eyed or platformed soled or whatnot?)

But man do I miss those days. The years between 1979 and 1985 were a great time to be a punk rock kid in NYC.

For some strange reason my feet decided to grow when I was 26 so the 10-eye green docs I was IN LOVE WITH no longer fit. But I'm wearing my chucks. That's punk rock, right?

Whitney

I loved The Phantom Tollbooth when I was growing up. It's pretty punk rock, if I say so myself...playing with words, being not quite normal, all roads lead to punk!

Ooh, this seems like such a cool book!

Sounds awesome. =)

Yeah, lounging on the bed and writing or typing is my favourite method of writing too! = D

I still have Docs... wear 'em, too, from time to time. It's fun in this Stepford community to show up with dragons embroidered on your ankles!

If you are still running this contest, I would love to be entered!

what kind of lists i wonder? silly lists? crazy lists?
you know what? i would totally read that book if it had a list of the most commonly found termite breeds. cuz if your going to write about termites, you have to be commited. and slightly insane. but who doesn't want to read an insane author?!

aurora

Happy new year, all. It's that time of year for lists, isn't it - and the only one I've made so far is the one written on the back of a Rite-Aid receipt and crumpled in my coat pocket, listing a few random supermarket items. I'd list them, but then I run a significant risk of being slightly less clever than I think I'm being by actually posting an authentic grocery list. Resolve to make no lists! Happy 2008, all.

jennifer

I love books of lists (and making my own lists and then losing them and making them over again) - which doesn't feel very punk rock - but this book looks awesome - and, of course, very punk rock!

Chaturbox

is this still running?

dj

nope, sorry--we've chosen a winner already.

Alan

Hey, I just gotta have this cool book for my Daughter! Annie the 'Punk Junky' is frequently hidden silently away in the 'little room' with a book when there's dishes to wash! This book is sure to produce many 'giveaway chuckles'!

was it a psychic reader hotline or face to face? haha

When in rock history where you could start your rock career?
If I can choose which era in rock history so that I could start my rock career, I would have belonged in the British Invasion period of the 1960s when bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who gained popularity. Being the John Lennon/Mick Jagger/Roger Daltrey type of leader of the group, I would shape rock history with concept albums, psychedelia, and rebellious music.

What about you? When in rock history where you could start your rock career? Why?

What is a good book of poetry I should get someone as a gift?
I myself, unfortunately, am not big into poetry but my sister very much is. She likes inspirational, deep meaning type poetry and/or quotes. Does anybody recommend any good authors or complete books of poetry that would be good as a christmas present? Please be specific.

I write ALOT of poetry and I am told it is very inspiring. I am also told on many occasions that I should submit it to contest to get my poetry published. I feel as if I should not just plublish one if I do decide I want to publish, so how would I go about getting my poetry published and copyrighted?
